First a question. Am I being dense in trying to find it or has the ability to put in notes disappeared?
Second, Even IF someone was using information for extra intel who really cares?
I mean if someone saw my chain it doesn't really change much. If they happened to open up into that chain, they would find it by scanning the rest anyhow. Maybe it would save a bit of time depending on how the sigs were recorded. But otherwise it doesn't change that much.
It is like knowing the J number of where someone lives. It's not like knowing gives you some special ability to find that system (you still have to roll into it). And if you did roll into it, you can figure out a system's occupancy without much effort in most cases. |

Ok updating from my previous post. I still don't get the notes area in game. I cleared the cache like 3 times and it came back a couple of days ago. now even clearing the cache won't bring it back.
it shows up fine outside the game in Chrome. |

Trick Ster3 wrote:Also at the guy that said this intel is irrelevant. Maybe it is if your like a c2 or c3 wh corp. PvP C5 and C6 corps this infomation would be extremely valuable. You roll into someone, you instantly know their chain and sigs and other info about where they are and in what.... korean gank ninja's. Critical thinking is lost on this generation.
First off, not irrelevant, but not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
First off, IF there was a real reason for the fear people have of a shared service, the only person really in the position to be able to use that data is the developer and his corp/alliance, as I'm sure he has written it so non-admins certainly can't see other corps data.
Even then the intel would only be useful if you happen to roll into the corp who's data you hacked into. And even then it only saves a little time as it doesn't take that long to scan down a system these days.
And actually I'd say it would be a greater threat to the lower class WH's. They more often have a k-space exit. managing to hack that data would give you a known way in.
Critical thinking isn't lost, you just didn't really think it through very well. |

Not sure if this is the place you'd want feature requests, but a delete all for signatures would be nice. Sometimes it's easier to just delete the whole list and copy paste a new one than clearing them all out one by one. |

A full page refresh is ideal to make sure you have all the latest code. ctrl-F5 or clear IGB cache.
Also this weekend Galileo will be getting a major server overhaul so it will be down - avoid using it until I post that it is ready again.
Would any of that be why tripwire no longer functions out of game? |

I have been monitoring it all day and been on EVE since 7am and nobody has reported major issues.. only minor.
IE and chrome.
If I log in via the IGB it has been working fine. I get our WH map, everything looks good.
If I log in with the same account out of game in either browser I only get rens as a system on the map. Even if I add our home system in preferences I only see rens.
Also, none of the notes I have put in today via the IGB have persisted. When logging in later in the day all of the notes are gone.
[edit]
All of my corpmates have mentioned the same issue out of game
[second edit]
I completely cleared the cache on both browsers as well. |

Daimian Mercer wrote:Most of the issue you and others are having is from page cache. Ctrl-F5 multiple times OOG and IGB -> Options -> General Settings -> Clear Browser Cache multiple times too.
Even then sometimes there are issues....
The issue is with the last patch I modified some core code - the browser cache is using old core code and not downloading the new code like it should. I don't know if there is anything I can do on my end but I will be possibly pulling an all nighter to try and fix or at least improve the situation.
Yea OOG I have cleared the cache and done CTRL F5 many times. Honestly I only ever used it with chrome so technically it would have been my first time loading it in IE. Still no joy. Let me know if I can be of any assistance testing etc. |

Damien,
I fixed my issue. It seems as though it wasn't the browser but rather the account in some way.
Even today when I tried again I was having the issue we were troubleshooting the other night. It would simply never show the chain, only rens.
So I decided to try some other computers that I have never used for tripwire before. I used the kids computer, same issue.
Then I tried an old macbook that my daughter uses. It was interesting as when I clicked on the home icon on the Mac I actually got a popup error about my home system not being set. I went in and there was a home system set. I know I had retyped the home system multiple times when we were working on it.
However I did notice the home system had a lower case j. I am not sure if this is significant. However I re-typed it with a capital J and boom it worked on the Mac.
I immediately went back to my computer and it is now working properly there as well.
I just figured I would let you know in case this helps anyone else. |

Damien.
Is this thread where you would like any C4 or WH type errors? |

Q003 is a frigate sized only WH going from C4-0.0 space
so far both C4's I've been in show incorrect statics in tripwire. They show correctly via the constellation blog of Calaretu.
J153722 is A C4/C3/C2- Tripwire claims a C4/C3/C4 J160459 is a C4/C4/C6- Tripwire shows C4/C4/C3 |

Daimian Mercer wrote:Because I have suddenly run into money issues I will be releasing the latest update to Tripwire this weekend so I can shutdown non-essential servers.
Tripwire will continue - just on a new server.
I will try to perform the switch during a time when it is least used and communicate it hear.
Damien,
Do you have any info on what kind of server and load it gets? I could potentially offer some server space to run it if it helps cash flow.

Daimian,
As others have said, kudos on a great tool. I had a few questions/comments after having used it for a very long time.
1. I believe you had mentioned changing the default time on sigs like gas sites etc to longer back when CCP changed it so that Sig ID's persist through downtime. This however hasn't seemed to be the case. Is there a place that can be configured as right now they have to be manually changed every time to longer than 24 hours, which is doable but extra work.
2. Is there a way to add some sort of functionality to be able to flag a WH as inactive? As an example, since I tend to work from home I often get in and scan before starting my day. I may scan down our static (which has a 16 hr lifespan) but I specifically don't warp to it if I am pretty sure it is fresh. The reason being that the bulk of my corpmates will get on after work and the timing is such that if I were to do so the static would be near EOL right when they want to play.
However, tripwire starts the clock as soon as I add it, so it shows EOL even though it is inactive. Manually changing the status back to stable doesn't seem to work very well, as it tends to flip right back to critical after I save. The only way around is to just delete it and re-create it, which again works but is suboptimal.
Also, any plans for the pretty but useless graph area? Ever since CCP removed WH statistics it is largely useless.
Thanks again! |

Thanks again! About to release a hot patch so pasted sites default to 72 hours. Someday I'll add an option to change what they default to. Wormholes still default to 24 hours. Give me a few days to think about "inactive" wormholes.... an interesting issue. Well CCP FoxFour said he wanted to publish all killmails for each system for killboards. Once he finally adds that CREST end-point I plan to add back Ship Kills and Pod Kills in wormholes by using that end-point. Thanks for the feedback!
Damian,
Maybe a better implementation could be as follows. It would probably make more logical sense and not involve any new "buttons"
So as of now, say I have a WH sig in tripwire. The timer says it has been there 6 hours and so its life is "stable" I warp to the Wh and find that in fact it is EOL. So in tripwire i change the WH from "stable" to "critical" and save. At this point the WH shows critical and the time changes to the red 4 hour countdown. IE works as intended.
The problem is that the reverse does not seem to work. If I have a WH in tripwire which has been around say 20 hours, then tripwire has automatically changed it to Critical and started the 4 hour countdown. If I warp to that WH and find that in fact it isn't EOL, I go into tripwire and set the status from critical back to stable and save. The problem is this does not save, or it almost immediately reverts back to critical again. If this functionality worked then there would be no reason to need an "inactive" status. Maybe if setting back to stable reset the timer as well? This would be the same as deleting and recreating the sig, without having to delete, create, change to wh, fill out WH type and connects to etc. |

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what happens if after you sign up for tripwire, and you switch Corps, will your login automatically switch as well, since it drives off the API? In addition what happens with any notes put in the system? Will they follow me over or if not is there a way to get those out of the system? |
